Karen graduated from Loyola University with a B.S. in International Business & Finance. Karen joined the Department of Genetics in February 2007 as Assistant Business Manager. She has been affiliated with LSU Health Sciences Center since 2002 when she started as a Coordinator in the Neuroscience Center of Excellence and then spent 2 years with the Department of Pharmacology.

Karen's main responsibilities include managing $8 million in research grants, human resource development for the department and assisting with coordinating all day-to-day administrative functions for 43 faculty members and staff.
