Vamsee is a graduate student in the Department of Genetics at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is currently working in Dr. Guoshun Wang`s laboratory and his research focus is on understanding the genetic defects of human airway epithelial cells in cystic fibrosis and alcoholism.

Vamsee was born and raised in India and received his Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences from Government College of Pharmacy, Bangalore, India. Before joining the graduate program in 2006, he worked as a research associate at Indian Institute of Science.
