Bioinformatics, Statistical Analysis, and Modeling Facility

This core resource provides expertise in experimental planning, experimental design, data acquisition, data analysis, database development and data management and warehousing for researchers working on the development of new theories of therapies and diagnostic strategies for ocular disease. Mathematical computing other than statistical analysis is also provided, including numerical modeling (typically simultaneous sets of differential equations representing some parameterization of a system, and realized in Mathematica), and large scale simulations (SAS, Splus, or Mathematica). All services are available for both clinical trials and experimental work. For research involving clinical trials as all or part of the research effort, support is also provided for research plan generation, IRB approval, consent form creation, and case report form generation. Lectures and orientation for laboratory personnel in statistical methods and procedures are also provided where required.
