Research Opportunities

The LSU Eye Center offers extensive opportunity for students, residents, fellows, and PhD candidates to collaborate on research activities.

 

Researchers and Graduate Students from other institutions:   The LSU Eye Center offers a broad range of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research opportunities.  If you would like to collaborate with an LSU Faculty member, please contact that faculty member directly.

 

Medical students:   Third or fourth year LSU and visiting medical students may be eligible to participate in one or two 4-week rotations in clinical or basic science research.   Please email your available dates and research interests to our Acting Research Director [mailto: dneum1@lsuhsc.edu] and contact Student Affairs for appropriate paperwork:

Medical Student Summer Research Program. Medical students having completed their first year of training are eligible to work on a summer research project during the 8 weeks between their first and second year.  This program is designed for both students who have had research experience and those who have not.  Students can choose any LSUHSC-NO faculty member with an active research program in Ophthalmology as their Mentor.
