LSU VITREORETINAL FELLOWSHIP CLINICAL ROTATIONS

 

The LSU Vitreoretinal fellows rotate between Baton Rouge and New Orleans on a quarterly basis. There is 1 fellow on the New Orleans rotation which includes clinic and surgery with Dr. Reinoso, and working in the clinic at UMCNO.


The Baton Rouge rotation has 2 fellows, and includes clinic and surgery with Dr. Stephen Breaud and Dr. Aravinda Rao at Vitreoretinal Institute and also at the LSU/OLOL Eye Clinic with Dr. Aravinda Rao. One fellow travels 45 minutes out of Baton Rouge to Lafayette, LA to the LSU/UHC Eye Clinic one day weekly for clinic and surgery and works with Dr. Ruben Grigorian. 


Our fellows see a wide range of pathology including medical and surgical management of uveitis, aggressive diabetic disease, retinal detachments, macular degeneration, epiretinal membranes, and macular holes to name a few. The volume of surgical pathology is extensive and fellows leave LSU having attained the skills necessary to excell in a career in vitreoretinal surgery.
