Welcome to the LSUHSC Pediatrics Web Site

Welcome to the website of the Department of Pediatrics of the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Our department has two main goals: to provide a rewarding and significant educational experience for our students, residents and fellows and to provide the best pediatric health care to children in New Orleans and Southern Louisiana.

Both aims are served by an excellent and diverse faculty in general pediatrics and in all pediatric subspecialties. Our faculty has remained intact following Hurricane Katrina. Our strong association with Children's Hospital - New Orleans has assured our access to excellent practice, research and training facilities. In addition to the conventional practice of pediatrics, our department has developed a strong interest in the field of Pediatric Public Health as a means of having an impact on the health of children in the State of Louisiana. Research in education is at the forefront among our many research interests, because of its significant impact on our educational mission.
