Mission: To address the health care needs of children, adolescents and young adults in Greater
New Orleans, Louisiana and beyond through evidence-based culturally-sensitive care, the advanced education of health professionals, the conduct of relevant research, and translation of research
and policy into practice.

The Division's diverse faculty provide care for thousands of infants, children and adolescents in community health clinics throughout Greater New Orleans. These patient centered community health clinics comprise the core longitudinal continuity clinic and adolescent health experiences for LSUHSC Pediatric residents as well as LSU Medical Students, Nursing Students, Dental Students and Physician Assistant Students. They also include 2 Spanish speaking clinics. Faculty also provide care at the Touro Infirmary Nursery, the Children's Hospital Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit and Children's Hospital inpatient wards. Our Adolescent Medicine specialists staff a specialty clinic at Children's Hospital New Orleans, a referral and primary care Adoelscent Clinic at Kids First Tiger Care Pediatrics and 3 School-Based Health Centers in local public secondary schools and provide comprehensive medical and behavioral health care to over 2000 adolescents- keeping kids in school and parents at work or home.

Faculty are engaged in various research projects including pediatric nutrition, adolescent STI and reproductive health care, and clinical best-practices for adolescent parents and their children.
