 JUNIOR RADIOLOGY COURSE
JULY 2011 
 

The Junior Radiology Course will be held: 

  • July 5 - 8, 2011: Lecture Series (New Orleans, LA., MEB Room A)
  • July 8: Final Examination, 8:00am (MEB Room A)

The goals of the course are to:

  • Familiarize you with basic imaging principles and radiation safety
  • Familiarize you with array of imaging modalities available
  • Teach you what is important for ordering and viewing studies
  • Teach you the fundamentals of CXR (and KUB) interpretation
  • Provide an interesting bridge between the L2 and L3 years

 Attendance will be required:

  • Roll will be taken for all presentations
  • 80% attendance will be needed to pass the course
  • Signing for others will not be tolerated
  • Signing for others will result in failing the course and referral to CPC

 Course grade will be determined by:

  • Attendance
  • Passing a final exam (comprised of practical and written components)

 Additional requirements and Course Information:

  •  There is no required textbook for the 2011 course 
  •  Radiation safety outline (placed on website)
  •  Refer to Website postings for selected lectures from PowerPoint Lectures
  •  Course Review and Handouts can be obtained the day of the lecture
  •  Recommended textbooks:

                 2.  Squire's Fundamentals of Radiology, 6th ed., Robert A. Novelline
                 3.  Felson's Principles of Chest Roentgenology:  A Programmed Text,
