A comparison of Continued Low-Dose Inhaled Corticosteroids
versus Leukotriene Modifier for Asthmatic Patients Well
Controlled with Low Dose Inhaled Corticosteroids
This research study compares the treatment effects of 3 different
asthma medications to determine if they are equally effective
for decreasing the number and severity of asthma attacks
in people who have mild to moderate asthma.
To be included in this trial you must:
- Have been diagnosed with asthma by a doctor
- Not be on chronic oral corticosteroid treatment (for
example, Prednisone tablets)
- Not be a smoker
- Be able to comply with study procedures

Effect on Education and Drug Presentation on Montelukast and
Placebo in Asthma
The purpose of this research study is to understand the way
that education and presentation of an asthma treatment may
effect the response to montelukast and placebo in people
who have asthma.
To be included in this trial you must:
- Have been diagnosed with asthma by a doctor
- Regularly use prescribed asthma medication for the past
year
- Use rescue medicine (for example, Albuterol) 2 or more
times per week for the relief of your asthma symptoms
- Not be a smoker
- Not have an allergy to Montelukast
