From 1998 to 2004, Dr. Worthylake worked with Dr. John Sondek at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying the mechanism of activation of Rho GTPases by members of the Dbl family of guanine nucleotide exchange factors. His lab is currently studying the functioning of the IQGAP family of large molecular scaffolds, and in a collaboration with the laboratories of Dr. Sunyoung Kim and Dr. Edward Wojcik, the allosteric regulation of the mitotic kinesin motor proteins.
