Research Day 2011

Research Day offers students and researchers at LSU Health Sciences Center a public forum for presenting their research and
to receive valuable feedback from their colleagues. It is also an opportunity for them to see how their research compares to
that of their peers in a competitive arena. Each year, awards are given for projects that demonstrate outstanding and innovative
research with the potential for contributing to the advancement of medical science and health care.

Awards were given for outstanding Oral and Poster Presentations.
Congratulations to Sherin Hashem who placed 1st in graduate student posters and Virginia Ronchi for placing 2nd in Post Doc Posters!

Courtney Parke, a recent Biochemistry graduate won the 2011 Chancellor's award.

The Chancellor's Award is presented annually to a high ranking graduating student who has done the most to promote the health sciences and the School before the public. Selection is made by a committee of the faculty appointed by the Dean, with consultation by members of the graduating class. This award was established by the Chancellor of the Medical Center in 1977.
