Robert Veith, MD, earned his medical degree in 1981 from the LSU School of Medicine, where is now a Clinical Associate Professor of Internal Medicine/Hematology. With Augusto Ochoa, MD, he directs the National Cancer Institute-funded Minority-Based Community Clinical Oncology Program (MB COOP) for the Cancer Center, and he was the original Principal Investigator for this grant. First funded in 1994, this program focuses on increasing the enrollment of minority patients onto state-of-the-art clinical trials for cancer treatment and cancer prevention and control.
