Jane S. Wey, MD Jane S. Wey, MD, is an Assistant Professor within the Division of Surgical Oncology. After earning a doctoral degree from the University of California at San Diego in 1999, she completed both an internship and residency in General Surgery at the University of California Davis Medical Center. During medical school, she participated in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute-NIH Research Scholars Program and subsequently completed a research fellowship in surgical oncology at the University of Texas’ MD Anderson Cancer Center during residency. She completed her clinical surgical oncology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, specializing in gastrointestinal and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Wey joined the LSU Health Sciences Center Department of Surgery in August of 2008. Her clinical interests include colorectal, pancreatic, and other gastrointestinal tumors, and her research interests involve angiogenesis and molecular markers in gastrointestinal cancers and outcomes research.
