Summer Science Program (SSP)

Medical educators have long recognized and demonstrated that the appropriate types of high school experiences are important in nurturing and developing underrepresented minority students’ interest in health careers. Since 1985, the Office of Community & Minority Health Education (CMHE) has conducted the 8-week high school Summer Science Program. Annual survey’s and persistent follow-up of program participants led to the following results:
