Dr. Helm holds the title of Associate Dean and Professor of Surgery
and Public Health. He has extensive experience in administration and
academic support services for the minority and disadvantaged student.
He is a practicing physician and is on the LSU School of Medicine surgery
faculty. He is the overall supervisor and director for all aspects of
the Office of CMHE and its activities. He is a role model for minority
and disadvantaged students and provides counseling as needed on a 24-hour
basis.

Ms. Parker is Assistant Professor of Clinical Family Medicine and Assistant Coordinator for the Office of CMHE. She serves as the alter-ego for the Associate Dean, trouble shoots for him in his absence, and acts as the liaison between the Medical School and Louisiana Universities. She counsels and monitors minority and disadvantaged student’s progress, coordinate CMHE activities, and functions as immediate supervisor to the staff.
Sonja Alridge
Position: Administrative Secretary
Mrs. Alridge is responsible for all administrative support services that enhance the Office of CMHE. She also assists the Associate Dean and staff to plan and implement every phase of their activities.
