Welcome to the Department of Dermatology at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans. The Department is dedicated to treating both private and public patients, resident and fellow education, and clinical research.
Dermatology encompasses the treatment of the skin, hair and nails. Our faculty and residents treat complex diseases, interpret skin pathology, provide preventative maintenance skin programs, perform surgery on benign and malignant skin lesions and offer a wide array of cosmetic dermatologic procedures.
The Department of Dermatology offers an accredited three year ACGME residency in dermatology that qualifies candidates for certification by the American Board of Dermatology. The Department also offers a 1 year fellowship training in Mohs' Micrographic Surgery that qualifies candidates for certification by the American Board of Micrographic Surgery.
Specialized services including immunodermatology, phototherapy, dermatologic mycology, dermatopathology, patch testing, Mohs' micrographic surgery, laser surgery, and cosmetic procedures are offered.
