Welcome to the Fellowship section of the LSU Emergency Medicine Residency Program.

The American Board of Medical Specialties recognizes five distinct subspecialties within Emergency Medicine. They are:

1. Hyperbarics and Undersea Medicine;
2. Pediatric Emergency Medicine;
3. Sports Medicine;
4. Toxicology; and
5. Palliative Medicine

While subspecialty accrediation and certification exist for those disciplines mentioned above, the field of Emergency Medicine encompasses a broad range of other non-accredited subspecialties. Such examples include Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Ultrasound, Diaster Medicine, International Emergency Medicine and Critical Care. Fellowship opportunities exist at LSU for Hyperbarics and Undersea Medicine,Emergency Ultrasonography and Emergency Medical Services.
