EMS/Disaster (Emergency Preparedness)

Residents receive several lectures throughout the year on topics such as bioterrorism, weapons of mass destruction, mass casualties and emergency preparedness. The department works closely with the city of New Orleans and the HAZMAT team in bi-annual emergency drills, setting up decontamination tents and practicing disaster triage.
