The Advanced EM elective is designed to prepare you for an exciting future in this ever-changing specialty. At LSU, our aim is to provide you with outstanding clinical exposure and high-quality education in a variety of forms. During this clerkship, your responsibilities will include:
For those students wishing to explore one of the many subspecialties of EM, we also offer dedicated 4-week rotations in Ultrasound, Hyperbaric Medicine, and Research.

Please fill out and return to LSU Student Affairs at the address provided. You will be notified upon receipt whether your application is accepted.

MEDC 432a - Senior Clerkship in Emergency Medicine
(You may list Dr. Jennifer Avegno under "Preceptor.")
MEDC 434a - Senior Elective in Emergency Medicine (write "U/S," "Hyperbarics," or "Research" next to course number)
Housing
Several of our residents have generously offered housing at reasonable prices to visiting students. There is limited availability; if you are interested please contact Dr. Avegno ASAP. We will also help you to secure short-term housing in the New Orleans area if necessary.
