West Jefferson Medical Center

PGY 1s rotate for one month blocks at West Jefferson Medical Center in the Anesthesia Department. WJ is located 15 miles from downtown New Orleans and is a tertiary referral center. All major subspecialties are represented. Residents can expect to perform in excess of 100 intubations per rotation under controlled situations with Anesthesia staff.

Residents are also welcome to rotate through the ED. All faculty are Charity EM graduates and boarded in Emergency Medicine. WJ's ED sees in excess of 50,000 patients per year with a very high acuity level. Residents work directly with staff and direct all trauma/medical resuscitations.

Parking and meals are provided during the rotation.
