The scope of responsibility of this office is quite broad, managing faculty matters such as initial appointment, faculty advancement, sabbatical and other types of extended leave, committee assignments, faculty evaluation, and faculty enhancement programs. It conducts an annual review of research space productivity and assists the Dean in coordinating space needs and laboratory assignments. It often coordinates school efforts related to strategic planning or faculty retreats. The office also serves as a liaison between the Dean and the Faculty Assembly Delegation, between the Dean and the Chancellor's Office on matters related to international members of our campus community, and between the School of Medicine and the Louisiana State Board of Medical Licensure.
