Research Advisory
Committee
The
purpose of the Research Advisory Committee is to obtain input on
research-related issues from the research community.� The committee is composed of junior and
senior faculty members who are active research scientists.� The committee makes recommendations to the
Dean of the School of Medicine on issues related to organization of core
laboratories, shared equipment needs, institutional research grant programs,
and other research related topics.�
Additionally, the committee examines and makes recommendations on
research space utilization in the form of the Annual Research Space
Analysis.� The SOM Research Office
collects information on changes in departmental and center research productivity
and utilization of research space. The approved report is submitted to the
Administrative Council, and to the Dean.�
The Dean uses this information when allocating space to the
administrative units throughout the School of Medicine. The minutes from each
of the committee meetings is submitted to the Dean of the School of
Medicine.�
