Research Advisory Committee
The purpose of the Research Advisory Committee is to obtain input on research-related issues from the research community. The committee is composed of junior and senior faculty members who are active research scientists. The committee makes recommendations to the Dean of the School of Medicine on issues related to organization of core laboratories, shared equipment needs, institutional research grant programs, and other research related topics. Additionally, the committee examines and makes recommendations on research space utilization in the form of the Annual Research Space Analysis. The SOM Research Office collects information on changes in departmental and center research productivity and utilization of research space. The approved report is submitted to the Administrative Council, and to the Dean. The Dean uses this information when allocating space to the administrative units throughout the School of Medicine. The minutes from each of the committee meetings is submitted to the Dean of the School of Medicine.
