The Office of Faculty Development hosted the first LSUHSC School of Medicine New Faculty Reception on Tuesday, September 8.  The Reception was an opportunity for the new faculty to meet and interact with each other, the department heads and key leaders from the medical center.  The Chancellor's Reception Room provided the perfect atmosphere for the informal gathering and a chance for the Dean to mingle with his new hires.  Dr. Paula Gregory, Director of Faculty Development, introduced key campus resource people and welcomed the group.  She also introduced them to the "virtual orientation" that is on the Faculty Development website.  All the new faculty were provided Medical School Packets containing information about policies and resources for new faculty. 

This event launches a full academic year schedule of programs and workshops that present a broad spectrum of strategies and tools that will facilitate the new faculty's role in teaching, research and service.
