The Alliance for Advancing the Academic Medicine Workplace

Dear School of Medicine Faculty Members:

Attached are informational materials related to an exciting project, Faculty Forward. The Faculty Forward initiative presents a collaboration between the AAMC and 25 medical schools examining elements of full time faculty satisfaction with a professionally designed survey instrument (already announced) and providing us with data that will hopefully enhance full time faculty retention. Dr. Nelson, Dean, has appointed a “Blue Ribbon Task Force” that will work with the AAMC on the project. I’m especially delighted to post the listing of Task Force members on this site and also pleased that Dr. McGoey will serve as Vice-Chair of the Task Force. The survey instrument will be administered online beginning April and it will be available for several weeks. We are eager to have a high level of participation from our faculty members. Please invite me or one of my leadership partners (Dr. McGoey, Dr. Gregory, or any of the Task Force members) to an upcoming departmental faculty meeting if you wish to do so.
