LSU provides disability insurance and professional liability insurance for residents in training. Health insurance, life insurance, and other benefits of employment are available for modest premiums paid by the resident.

Meals are provided when required to stay within the facility for 24 hours. UpToDate access is provided through the institution.

Subject to obtaining proper state licensure, moonlighting is allowed after the first year of residency with prior approval by the Program Director.
