Employment Outlook: Primary care, as a whole, has seen a dramatic surge in employment opportunities. Family medicine has specifically seen this surge secondary to the diverse nature of its clinical and procedural scope. Lafayette and its surrounding areas offer many job opportunities to graduating residents. The majority of our residents have found employment by the end of their second year.
Competitiveness: There has been an increasing need for family physicians throughout the nation. Our graduates are competitive in all areas of family medicine secondary to the educational experience of the program. The combination of a large and diverse patient volume, advanced pathology, and resident autonomy make the program unique. We continue to strive for consistent academic and clinical excellence in both our faculty and residents alike. These standards along with our faculty, facilities, and location make this residency program an excellent choice in an applicant’s search.
