Kevin Dietz is a native of New Orleans and a graduate of LSU in Baton Rouge in 2005 where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. While attending LSU, he also worked in the Neuroscience Department of Pennington Biomedical Research Center. Following graduation, he moved back to New Orleans to pursue a doctorate degree at LSU Health Sciences Center. In June, 2005, he became a member of the inaugural class in the Interdisciplinary Program at LSUHSC, which allows students to rotate through labs within all departments in the graduate school. Following rotations in the Departments of Pharmacology, Genetics, and Microbiology, Immunology and Parasitology, Kevin opted to join the Department of Genetics. He is currently a member of Dr. Andrew Hollenbach's lab which studies alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, an aggressive childhood muscle tumor. |
