Diana Stoute began her graduate career at LSU Health Sciences Center in July 2005, as a member of the inaugural doctoral class in Interdisciplinary Studies. The following year, she joined the Department of Genetics under the mentorship of Dr. Bronya Keats. Her research interests include familial and population genetics studies in south Louisiana. Diana was born and raised in Morgan City, Louisiana. In 2005, she graduated magna cum laude from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana, with the Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences (with a Chemistry minor). She was also one of seven students that year to complete the curriculum of the University Honors Program. As an undergraduate student, she was a research assistant in the Molecular Genetics Section of the department of Biological Sciences. |
