Education: BS Biological Sciences, LSU A&M College, Baton Rouge

About you:  I am a native of New Orleans and have lived here for my entire life with the exception of the time I spent in Baton Rouge attending LSU.  I received my bachelor's degree in biology with a focus on microbiology and microbial genetics.  I entered the Interdisciplinary Program in August of 2011 and, after completing several rotations, was able to find a place in the lab of Dr. Krzysztof Reiss, where I am working on a project involving the effects of ethanol on the insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor in the central nervous system.

Primary Research Interest: Pathways controlling the proliferation and differentiation of neuronal precursors and how these pathways are perturbed in the presence of ethanol.

Career Goal? To become an independent biomedical researcher in the field of stem cell research/therapy.

What makes you unique? My DNA.

What makes you typical?  My favorite food is pizza.
