It is a pleasure and an honor to serve as Chairman of the Department of Medicine. One of my goals is to ensure that this Web site be an instructive communication tool which will help bring us closer together, so we are more a community than just a group of specialty physicians. Coming together as an informed, unified and engaged body will be our strongest weapon in the future to defend our profession and fight for the health interests of our patients. As the largest clinical department within Louisiana State University, our Department was created to enhance the quality and effectiveness of healthcare by fostering excellence and professionalism in the education and practice of medicine. This Web site will function as another vehicle for us to stay informed about the most current medically related activities within our Department that affect our medical community with immediate access to act together, singularly or as a whole.

As Chairman of Louisiana State University's Health Sciences Center Department of Medicine, I would like to welcome you to contact our Departmental office about any issues you feel we can help you with.
