After receiving his B.A. degree from Williams College in 1987 and his MD from LSU, Dr. Amoss completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at LSU School of Medicine and, in 1996, joined the faculty in the Section of Comprehensive Medicine. In 2010, he became the first Section Chief for the newly-formed Section of Hospital Medicine.
Dr. Amoss is board certified in Internal Medicine.
