Bio

Dr. Perry Rigby is Professor of Medicine and Director of the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Rigby received his B.S. from Mount Union College and his M.D. from Case Western Reserve University. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Virginia and Hematology Fellowship at Boston University. He was Director of the Division of Hematology at The University of Nebraska, later Dean of the Medical School there and then Dean at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dr. Rigby was Chancellor of Louisiana State University Medical Center, and is now Director of Health Care Systems. He was chosen to be a Markle Scholar. He has published 147 scientific papers and abstracts.

Dr. Rigby is Chair of the Louisiana Medical Education Commission, and Vice Chair of the Louisiana Health Works Commission.
