The Section of Hematology/Oncology engages in a broad range of activity in research, education and patient care. Each faculty member focuses in a disease specific area to facilitate both research and teaching. Particular areas of strength include carcinoid tumors, aerodigestive tumors, and benign hematology. Clinical research and education are emphasized and faculty members have ongoing relationships with laboratory based scientists in order to facilitate translational work. Numerous clinical trials for most malignancies are available through the LSUHSC Stanley Scott Cancer Center MB-CCOP.
