Section of Hematology / Oncology

The Section of Hematology/Oncology engages in a broad range of activity from research and education, to patient care. Each faculty member focuses in a disease specific area to facilitate both research as well as teaching endeavors. Particular areas of strength include carcinoid tumors, benign hematology, and breast cancer. Both translational and clinical research are emphasized and faculty members have ongoing relationships with laboratory based scientists in order to facilitate discovery. Numerous clinical trials are available and a variety of cooperative groups are supported via an NCI funded MB-CCOP mechanism.
