CSI 102 – Skills Lab # 4

Emergency Assessment
(Required)

OBJECTIVES/COMPETENCIES At the end of this lab, students will be able to:

 

  • Demonstrate and review vital signs abnormalities in temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressusre.
  • Demonstrate the ability to generate differential diagnosis from altered vital signs and patient presentation/symptoms.
  • Recognize patterns of vital sign abnormalities - stable, guarded and unstable. 

 

Read and review all of the previous skills lab notes referencing basic life support, vital signs and cardiac monitoring prior to the session.  Also, review the PowerPoint presentation on Skills Lab 4, which may be printed out as a handout.  Take the on-line pre-test, then print and bring to scheduled lab session. 

 

Also, there will be a group practical quiz and case discussion with this skills lab session.

 

EQUIPMENT: Stethoscope
 
DRESS: Comfortable clothes
