OBJECTIVES/COMPETENCIES At the end of this lab, students will be able to:

• Evaluate trauma patient utilizing a Primary and Secondary survey.
  
  
• Recognize immediate life threatening conditions associated with trauma.
  
  
• Demonstrate appropriate surgical consultation and diagnostic planning for trauma patients.

Read the basic trauma life support handout prior to the session.  Also review the PowerPoint presentation on Skills Lab 8 , which may be printed out as a handout.  Take on-line pre-test, then print and bring to scheduled lab session.  Also, there will be a practical group quiz and case discussion with this lab session.
