MIP 3241: Dental Hygiene Microbiology

This course, presented to first-year dental hygiene students, is an introduction to the basic principles of bacteriology, mycology, virology and immunology with special emphasis on how they relate to the microbial flora of the oral cavity and to oral disease.

Methods of sterilization and disinfection are stressed along with their application to the prevention of cross contamination in the dental office.
