Dr. Bagert, a native of New Orleans, earned her undergraduate degree in 1992 from Duke University. She graduated from LSU Medical School in 1997, and completed a neurology residency in 2001 at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City where she served as chief resident in her final year. She went on to complete a post-doctoral fellowship in Neuroimmunology and Multiple Sclerosis at Oregon Health & Science Center in Portland, OR in 2003. There, her research focused on novel treatments for cognitive dysfunction in MS. Dr. Bagert then pursued a master of public health (MPH) degree at the Harvard School of Public Health where her research focused on the effects of chronic lead exposure on neurological diseases. From 2005-2008, Dr. Bagert served as co-director of the MS Clinical Center at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, MA. Dr. Bagert joined the LSU Department of Neurology in July of 2003. She cares for MS patients at the Multiple Sclerosis Clinic of New Orleans at LSU, and also has a general neurology practice. Dr. Bagert is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. |
