In 1995, Dr. Tardo joined the Neurology Department of the LSU Health Sciences Center, where she is currently Professor of Clinical Neurology. The same year she began the epilepsy monitoring unit and Epilepsy Center at Childrens Hospital of New Orleans, which offers expert experience with the ketogenic diet and vagus nerve stimulation, as well as research opportunities for clinical trials of new antiepileptic drugs. In 2002, she joined the LSU Epilepsy Center of Excellence as Director of Pediatric Epilepsy. Dr. Tardo is currently Chair of the Practice Committee of the Child Neurology Society and a member of the Medical Economics and Management Committee of the American Academy of Neurology. She is board certified in pediatrics, child neurology, and clinical neurophysiology, and is a senior examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. |
