Upon completion of her internship, she was offered a Clinical Audiologist position with Kennedy Krieger Institute once she achieved her Master's Degree.

After completing her Master's degree, she successfully attained her Certificate of Clinical Competence while at Kennedy Krieger Institute. During her time there she conducted examinations commensurate with comprehensive Diagnostic Audiology such as Audiological Evaluations, Auditory Brainstem Response Evaluations, Hearing Aid Assessments and Management. She was also involved in treating patients via Aural Habilitation. The patient population at Kennedy Krieger Institute consisted of conventional children to ones with multiple involvements. Miss Montgomery also served on several Committees such as the Continuing Education Committee and provided in-services to fellow professionals and para-professionals.
