WR1, case # 76-1

Clinical information: 56 year old man with a retro peritoneal nodule.
Diagnosis. Retroperitoneal lymph node: Metastatic Adenocarcinoma of Prostate.
Diagnostic features: Pleomorphic secretory granules, some with crescent shape (arrows) typical of prostate secretory granules.

WR1, case # 76-2

Clinical information: 65 year old man with suspected hairy cell leukemia. A  blood pellet was obtained to confirm the diagnosis.
Diagnosis. Blood pellet: Normal white blood cells.
Diagnostic features: No cytoplasmic projections from the white blood cells.

WR1, case # 76-3

Clinical information: 26 year old female with a mass in the upper mediastinum.
Diagnosis:
Mediastinal nodule: Thymoma.
Diagnostic features:
Neoplastic squamous cells with desmosomes and tonofilaments (arrows) and accompanying lymphoid cells (asterisks).

Clinical information: 45 year old male with a mediastinal nodule.
Diagnosis:
Mediastinal lymph node: Metastatic, poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma.
Diagnostic features:
Intra cytoplasmic lumina (long arrows), weak desmosomes (small arrows) and irregular basal lamina (asterisk).

 

 

WR 1, case # 77-4

Clinical information: 56 yar old man with a supraclavicular nodule
Diagnosis:
Cervical Lymph Node: Metastatic squamous cell carcinoma.
Diagnostic features: Desmosomes and tonofilaments (arrows).
