WR3, case # 80-1

Clinical information: Seventy year old man with mass in the left hip.
Diagnosis. Left Hip: Rhabdomyosarcoma.
Diagnostic features: Z bands (short arrows) with associated actin and myosin fibers (long arrows).

WR3, case # 80-5

Clinical information:  65 year old man with cardiomyopathy, pleural effusion and proteinuria. Rectal biopsy was performed to rule out amyloidosis.
Diagnosis: AA Amyloidosis. No plasma cell dyscrasia.
Diagnostic features: Fibrillar material in blood vessel walls (arrows).

Clinical information: Nodule at the tip of an extracted tooth.
Diagnosis
. Salivary gland: Pleomorphic  Adenoma with Acinar (Glandular) differentiation. 
Diagnostic features:
Gland formation (Microvilli, tight junctions, desmosomes, intermediate filaments, mucous granules).

Clinical information: 23 year old male with hematuria, proteinuria and acute renal faiure.
Diagnosis:
Post Infectious (Post strep, acute) Glomerulonephritis. 
Diagnostic features:
PMNs (short arrows) and humps (long arrows).

 

 

WR3, case #81-10

Clinical information: Sixty three year old female with solitary nodule in the liver.
Diagnosis
. Liver: Metastatic melanoma.
Diagnostic features:
Abnormal pre melanosomes and melanosomes (arrows).
