APPLICATION: Carcinoma of breast
Scoring is done evaluating the percent of invasive cells that stain positive. 0=negative or cytoplasmic staining. 1+ = partial cell membrane staining of more or equal 10% of cells. 2+=Circumferential staining of the tumor cell membrane with a thin rim, involving more or equal 10% of tumor cells. 3+ =as with 2+ but the tumor cell membrane is a thick rim of darkly stained cell membrane.
