| Research Interests |
Our laboratory seeks to address current issues in the treatment of cardiovascular disease in high risk populations (e.g. Diabetes Mellitus or Kidney Disease) using the clinical research expertise of Ochsner combined with the basic science resources of LSUHSC. A major focus of our efforts is identifying differences in the biological mechanisms driving vasculoproliferative diseases in diabetics versus non-diabetics. Additional projects focus on the development of biomarkers for the identification of patients at high risk for cardiovascular disease and complications following angioplasty. |
