Denise Dorsey, MD

Bio

Denise Dorsey, MD began her psychoanalytic training in 1980 and was appointed Training and Supervising Analyst in 1989. Dr. Dorsey served as President of the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Society from 1977-1999. She has chaired numerous committees within the Institute. She authored Chapter 13, "Love, Genital Primacy, and Relations Between the Sexes," in Female Psychology: An Annotated Psychoanalytic Bibliography, and an article in the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association, Volume 55/Supplement, 1996 titled, "Castration Anxiety or Feminine Genital Anxiety?"
Current Dr. Dorsey is in private practice primarily focused on psychoanalysis and insight-oriented psychotherapy.
