The program is a 24-36 hour inpatient hospital program. The program is a unique and sophisticated medical approach to the treatment of opiate dependence. It was created specifically for high-functioning and well-motivated professional clients who have become dependent on such opiate products as heroin, methadone, morphine, dilaudid, Vicodin, hydrocodone, Lortab, Oxycontin and MS Contin. Its multidisciplinary staff offers an individually tailored approach to rapid detoxification from opiates.
The procedure is performed in an intensive care setting to ensure patient safety and the highest level of care. The procedures are performed at Kenner Regional Medical Center through the LSU School of Medicine Department of Anesthesiology Professor and Chair, Dr. Alan Kaye, MD PhD DABPM. Dr. Kaye also serves as Chair of Anesthesiology at Kenner Regional Medical Center and has an appointment in the LSU School of Medicine Department of Pharmacology as a Professor.
Accepting referrals from throughout the country, this program is uniquely targeted to health care and other professionals who have become dependent upon opiate drugs and desire to be free of their physical dependence.
The program focuses on the special needs of high-achieving health care and other professionals who have earned advanced degrees and are seeking to practice their skills without opiate dependence.
The goal of the program is to interrupt the addition cycle and to allow the professional clients to resume their work without the physical distress of severe withdrawal symptoms.
