Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA) is a nationwide organization that was founded in  1931. The organization acts nationally and globally to connect Christian physicians and students with each   other and with the world. The purpose of the LSUHSC chapter of the Christian Medical and Dental Association is to glorify God by motivating, educating, and equipping Christian doctors and students to serve with professional excellence as witnesses of Christ’s love and compassion, and by advancing biblical principles of healthcare within the Church and to our culture. At the core of CDMA is a desire to address relevant issues and needs in modern healthcare from a Christian perspective- all the way from medical missions in the community and abroad to bioethics and morals in our daily practice. In accordance with the great commission (Matt. 28:19), CMDA provides doctors and students with opportunities to “go” and be the hands of Christ to a needy world through missions collaboration both locally and abroad.
