Ochsner Foundation Hospital, recently ranked among the ten best hospitals in the United States, has 520 beds. About 15,000 patients are admitted each year and nearly 50,000 emergency cases are treated. The Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation was established by Ochsner Clinic in 1944 to carry out patient care, medical education, and clinical research activities of transcendent quality. The hospital is affiliated with the Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat Hospital in downtown New Orleans. The EENT Hospital has 108 beds and admits 4,600 patients, and its staff sees 18,000 out-patients, yearly.
