Vascular (CVT)

Hospital: CVT Surgical Center at Our Lady of the Lake

What is the typical work week for students on this rotation?

The work week consists of morning rounds at Our Lady of the Lake. The students are able to view/assist in the operating room and cath lab. In addition, they have the added option of attending an afternoon vascular clinic

What are the expectations of students?

The expectations of students include making rounds, participating in the operating room and attending Monday morning vascular conference.

How are students evaluated?

The students will be graded by Dr. Craven - not the resident on the service - at the end of the rotation

Other important info for students:

Students may also be required to interview an assigned patient and present a brief verbal presentation on the history of present illness; however, the majority of the learning on this service is "hands-on."
