US TOO!
Prostate Cancer Survivors and Victims
US TOO! is an independent network of support group chapters for men with prostate cancer and their families. It was founded in Chicago in 1990, and today it is the largest prostate cancer support group in the world.
US TOO! groups offer fellowship, peer counseling, education about treatment options, and discussion of medical alternatives without bias. One of our goals is to foster public awareness of prostate disease.
VISION
To provide the highest level of leadership, compassion and promotion of an enhanced understanding of prostate cancer while improving the quality of life for survivors, their families and men at risk through proactive programs and positions.
MISSION
US TOO! is a 501(c)(3) charitable / not-for-profit organization representing the needs of prostate cancer survivors, their families, men at risk, and health care providers, serving our chapters and their members, our supporters, constituencies, patient communities and the health care / research communities. US TOO! accomplishes this by providing leadership through proactive education and publications, public awareness / outreach, and patient / family support networking programs as well as by taking proactive positions supporting more effective screening, enhanced treatment options and increased funding for prostate cancer research.
VALUES
- We value activities which improve the longevity and quality of life for men with prostate cancer (and their families) through a free, open and organized exchange of ideas and experiences among a diverse population.
- We promote education, support and advocacy for prostate cancer survivors in addition to persons with an interest in enhancing the lives if those affected by prostate cancer.
- We are committed to enhancing the standards of care for those diagnosed with prostate cancer through improved patient / physician communication, advocating for increased and more effective screening methods, enhanced treatment options and expanded funding for both basic (and applied) research.
- We encourage life-enhancement through sharing of unbiased information and facilitate an open and honest exchange of ideas, experiences and options regarding prostate cancer.
- We add value to our constituencies, supporters, chapters, health care professionals, the research community and others involved / interested in prostate cancer by providing the effective, proactive infrastructure necessary to reach out to and support patients, their families and other men at risk.
You will find in the pages of US TOO! numerous histories of men who have given mightily of their time, money, and effort to support other men. This is the wonder and miracle of the US TOO! organization. It truly provides support and it truly works.Best regards,
