The psychology faculty is responsible for teaching and supervising medical students, psychiatry residents and fellows, social work trainees, as well as residents and trainees from other departments. We are particularly proud of our internship in clinical psychology which is offered to 6 graduate students in psychology from across the country each year. We place significant emphasis on quality supervised clinical experience in this program and maintain professional relationships with many of our alumni. We also offer post-doctoral fellowships in clinical psychology at our various rotations.
Within the Section, psychologists are actively engaged in scholarly activities and research, resulting in peer reviewed journal articles, books, book chapters, convention presentations, as well as funded grants and contracts. The psychology faculty provides a wide range of diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultation services to a diverse patient population ranging from infants to adults. These clinical services are provided in public and private inpatient and outpatient settings in collaboration with psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, and other mental health professionals. We also chair and serve on many departmental, medical school, and health sciences center committees, as well as consult with numerous community agencies.
